Objectives and competences

Objectives: • Knowledge of Slovenian and English terminology in the domain of machine tools and forming machines. • Understanding the importance of machine tools and forming machines. • Understanding the requirements to be met by machine tools and forming machines. • Understanding the impact of the technological process on the construction and construction of machine tools and forming machines. • Knowledge of machine and forming machine drives. • Knowledge of guides and bearings on machine tools and forming machines. • Knowledge of different designs of machine tools and forming machines. Competences: • Ability to identify types of machine tools and forming machines. • Ability to understand the operation of individual components of machine tools. • Ability to understand the structure and operation of machine tools and forming machines. • Understanding the preparation of the technological process.

Content (Syllabus outline)

Lectures: • The importance of machine tools and forming machines for the economy and manufacturing and forming machinery industry. • Requirements for machine tools and forming machines. • Machine tools and forming machine structures. • Static, dynamic, and thermal loads of machine tools and forming machines. • Installation of various types of machine tools and forming machines. • Hydrodynamic, hydrostatic, aerostatic, electromagnetic, and rolling guides and bearings. • Requirements and types of drives for main movements on machine tools. • Requirements and types of drives for feed movements on machine tools. • Overview of different types of forming machines. Exercises: • Laboratory exercises include preparation and demonstration of CNC machine tools and technological procedures.
