Content (Syllabus outline)

Fundamentals of understanding environmental engineering and ecology and their impact on design in terms of a circular economy and sustainable development. Fundamentals of human ecology. Defining basic ecological concepts, defining anthropogenic pollutants in the environment and learning about typical pollutants in water, soil and air. Getting to know the relationship between typical pollutants and the environment, with a focus on water. Recognizing water issues as one of the most important raw materials of the modern world. An introduction to the various processes of preparation and purification of waters and their most important pollution parameters. Fundamentals of Toxicology and Ecotoxicology. Understanding the global problem of environmental pollution such as greenhouse gases and acid rain and their consequences. Linking ecology with ethics, politics and legislative decision makers, learning about ecology as a way of thinking and new approaches to designing new products.
