Objectives and competences

Students: - Will become familiar and be able to use techniques of reflection through using research methods and case studies. - Will experience the process of clinical supervision using theoretical models and evaluation. - Be able to critically evaluated and to use theoretical models of supervision.

Content (Syllabus outline)

The importance and role of supervision with basic concepts and contents. Introduction of the supervision method and its development. Elements of the supervisory process. Conditions for supervision. Supervision processes - similarities and differences with other forms of assistance (counseling, therapy, mentoring, consultations, intervision, metasupervision). Developmental educational model of supervision. Supervision in nursing care. Models and types of supervision in nursing care. Burden and stress of healthcare staff. Ethics in supervision. Supervision using information technology. Evaluated research in clinical supervision.

Knowledge and Understanding: Upon completion of the course student will be able to: • to use technic of reflection with research methods and case studies , • to use theoretical models and evaluation in the process of clinical supervision.
