On completion of this course the student will be able

• describe the nature of intellectual disabilities and how this impacts on individuals.
• analyse the factors that impact on the health and well-being of people with intellectual disabilities.
• discuss how to adapt their communication to the needs of people with intellectual disabilities.
• evaluate how people with intellectual disabilities can be included in research
