Objectives and competences
The students
• understood the fundamental principles of leadership and their application in the context of nursing;
• understood the roles and tasks that managers and leaders perform in nursing;
• understood how to ensure quality and safety in the work environment;
• understood the methods for creating and maintaining a healthy and safe working environment;
• recognized strategies for career development and techniques for staff retention in nursing;
• understood the importance of power in different cultures and the management of multicultural workplaces;
• able to use scientific evidence to improve management practices.

• Key principles and competencies required for effective leadership and management in nursing.
• Addressing the skills, knowledge and abilities for successful leaders in the health sector must have.
• Analysis of different leadership styles that are effective in dynamic and changing healthcare environments.
• Strategies for ensuring a high level of quality and safety in nursing.
• Strategies for creating a positive and stimulating work environment that reduces the risk of burnout and increases employee satisfaction.
• Methods and approaches for career development of employees and techniques for motivating and retaining employees.
• Consideration of research and evidence supporting various approaches of leadership, with a particular focus on improving effectiveness and satisfaction in nursing.
Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
The student knows:
• implement and evaluate clinical practice based on scientific evidence;
• demonstrate the advanced management skills that organizations need to face the challenges of increasingly complex healthcare;
• use scientific evidence to improve quality and safety;
• evaluate evidence-based practice and health care outcomes;
• collaborate with interdisciplinary teams necessary to meet the health needs of individuals.
