If you don’t go for what you want, you will never have it. If you don’t ask, the answer is always no. If you don’t step forward, you’re always in the same spot. (Nora Roberts)

With the change of the environment and the arrival from Serbia to Slovenia, I wanted to feel new challenges. After five years in Belgrade, I wanted to live in a small town. That is why I chose Kranj and the Faculty of Organizational Sciences (FOV). The Department for enterprise Engineering teaches me to understand the operation of business and production systems, their organization and management methods, as well as analytical solutions to all possible problems that separate us from the ultimate goal.

As a foreign student, I was worried about being accepted by colleagues and professors. On the first day, all my worries disappeared. Professors spend a lot of time at each course for us foreign students. They organize additional meetings to help us master the study materials. They teach us theoretical basics through innovative and practical examples. During lectures and exercises, we are often divided into groups, and teachers encourage teamwork and an approach to problems from a different perspective through various workshops or case studies. I like the way the schedule is organized because there are almost never major breaks between two lectures. The Moodle platform has also proved to be very useful, as professors upload all the necessary literature, interesting articles and other types of material. Distance learning also takes place through this platform. With self-completed e-exercises, we can gain additional points and this way it is easier to pass the exam.

During my studies, I participated in a case study competition. This competition was a rich journey that brought me a new great experience, as well as the first important contact with company representatives. In the 2019/2020 academic year, I also participated in the project "Identification of gaps and development guidelines of the ACC (Aviation Career Center) training programme in the field of organization and management". For several months, I worked in the project group with FOV senior students. With the exchange and use of all acquired knowledge, skills and with the help of mentors, we successfully carried out the entire project. According to the project, all participants were rewarded both financially and with new experiences, knowledge and friendships.

Staying in a student dormitory in Kranj brings many advantages. The faculty is less than two minutes away from the room. The home provides enough comfort for rest, socializing and, if necessary, for learning. The social life in the dormitory is very dynamic, so far I have had the opportunity to meet dozens of foreign students from all over the world. There are many sports fields in the area, which makes my free time much more active.

I recommend studying at FOV UM, staying at the dormitory and in Kranj to everyone.
