The University of Maribor will publish on its website, www.um.si, the “Public Call for Applications for the Co-Funding of Doctoral Study Programmes for Students of the University Of Maribor – 2025/2026 academic year" presumably in the second half of June 2025. The public call will not be materially different regarding application terms or eligibility and valuation criteria from the Public Call for Applications for the Co-Funding of Doctoral Study Programmes – Generation 2024/2025.
The public call is intended for students who:
· are enrolled in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of the 3rd-cycle (doctoral) programmes in the academic year 2025/2026 and have regularly proceeded to a higher year of studies;
· have previously not completed any study programmes corresponding to the qualification level awarded under 3rd-cycle doctoral programmes;
· have previously not received any public grants or other forms of public funding for study programmes leading to a PhD, irrespective of the institution where they studied or whether they have completed their doctoral studies; and
· have a supervisor.
Applicants who obtain a total of at least 21 points based on the Evaluation Criteria will be eligible for further selection. The condition regarding not having received public co-funding for PhD studies does not apply to students who were already co-funded under previous calls by the University of Maribor, provided they have regularly progressed to the next year of study.
Students who were ranked among the top 10% of applicants in previous calls and were granted full tuition funding for all years of their doctoral studies do not need to apply again. The University will verify their academic progress.
Prospective applicants are advised to monitor updates on the public call at moja.um.si, and further information will be provided by the student affairs offices of UM faculties.
