Objectives and competences
The primary purpose of the Organizational Theory course is to provide students with a deep understanding of contemporary organizational theories, characteristics of structures and processes within organizations, and their adaptation to the global environment, with an emphasis on new forms of organization and process-oriented operations. It encompasses key knowledge and skills, such as communication abilities, the application of theoretical knowledge in practice, creative exploration, and the ability to think systematically, laying the foundation for specialization in the field of business-economic sciences and further independent study in business organization.

Learning and teaching methods
This course uses a range of teaching methods including lectures, discussion groups, present work, video presentations and films, case studies, student presentations and independent student study.
Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
In this course students:
1. The student will use general content and methodological knowledge to explain newer approaches to organizing (PILO 1a),
2. The student will use specific knowledge about management to organize modern companies (PILO 2a), 3. The student will use general and specific knowledge to organize individual functional areas of organizations (PILO 2a),
4. The student will upgrade existing knowledge in the field of organization with specific knowledge about organizing companies and non-profit organizations (PILO 3a),
5. The student will systematically use content and methodological knowledge about the use of newer organizational concepts for problem solving and decision-making (PILO 3a),
6. The student will develop the skills to independently and innovatively solve practical organizational problems of the operation and behavior of companies and non-profit organizations (PILO 3a, PILO 4a),
7. The student will develop the knowledge and skills for complex analysis and critical assessment of individual organizational solutions, their application in practice and comprehensive presentation of their results (PILO 2c, PILO 4b),
8. The student will use the knowledge and skills to organize independent work and work in a group (as a leader or member) and develop appropriate communication skills for effective presentation of work results (PILO 3c),
9. The student will use the knowledge and skills to analyze and synthesize solutions of digitalization, automation, robotization and artificial intelligence in organizing and critically assess the results of their application in practice (PILO 3a)
10. The student will use the knowledge for ethical, socially responsible and sustainable solving of practical problems in modern organizational systems (PILO 4b, PILO 4c).
The PILO label (i.e., Programme Intended Learning Outcomes) defines the contribution of each listed intended learning outcome of a course towards achieving the general and/or subject-specific competencies or learning outcomes acquired through the programme.
