Objectives and competences

Students are able to distinguish and analyse models of IT business transformation and digital transformation. They are able to apply appropriate information process re-engineering tools.

Content (Syllabus outline)

Course consist of following topics: pradigms of strategic IS/IT issues, theories of strategic information systems, IT/IS enabled organizational transformation, e-business models, e-models of business processes, e-services models, e-banking, e-insurance, e-commerce, development of e-organizations, case analysis, digital transformation frameworks . Functionalities and practical use of Visio and Aris (or related tools).

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

Students in this course: 1. review the concepts of business information support 2. systematically build on their knowledge of the concepts of the strategic use of information systems and the business value of information systems (PILO 2a, PILO 3b) 3. learn how to apply theoretical knowledge to the digital transformation of organisations (PILO 2a, PILO 3a) 4. be trained to apply theoretical knowledge in the information transformation of business processes (PILO 2a, PILO 3a) 5. be able to select digital business models for different purposes (PILO 2a, PILO 3a) 6. be aware of the ethical and sustainability aspects of digital transformation (PILO 4a, PILO 4c) The PILO label (i.e., Programme Intended Learning Outcomes) defines the contribution of each listed intended learning outcome of a course towards achieving the general and/or subject-specific competencies or learning outcomes acquired through the programme
