Objectives and competences

The student will: • develop a practical and actionable understanding of how corporate responsibility and sustainability are relevant to today's business environment; • gain an overview of how to apply key tools and methodologies to mitigate sustainability risks and achieve better performance; • gain an overview of a broad range of standards and guidelines to help companies effectively and systematically implement sustainability through sustainable management systems standards; • develop the ability to apply sustainability concepts to practical business situations; • explore and understand various metrics used to measure corporate sustainability engagement.

1. Sustainable management of production and service processes 2. Standards and guidelines in the field of corporate sustainability 3. Methods, techniques and tools for implementing, evaluating and measuring sustainable business practices 4. Tools and guidelines for sustainability reporting 5. Elements of sustainable business transformation 6. Examples of best practices and case studies of sustainable business

Intended learning outcomes - transferable/key skills and other attributes

Knowledge and understanding of: At the end of the course, the students will be able to: • evaluate an organization's activities from a sustainability perspective and recommend improvements and/or alternative strategies, • select and recommend an appropriate conceptual framework for introducing sustainable practices into an existing business unit or organization, • assess the quality and credibility of an organization's sustainability reporting, • describe and understand of key requirements, drivers and barriers to corporate sustainability management, • make a critical analysis of companies' chosen strategies and actions to address sustainability issues.
