Objectives and competences

• The student will: • acquire detailed knowledge in the field of social responsibility; • recognize the comprehensiveness of the issues of responsible management in the field of healthcare and social welfare; • gain an overview of standardised and non-standardized corporate sustainability system/models; • gain an understanding of how to apply different approaches, methodologies and tools in the field of social responsibility; • gain an understanding of how to perform an audit of excellence in sustainable and socially responsible business; • be able to formulate proposals for solving problems and their interpretation in the field of health and social care.

Content (Syllabus outline)

1) Introductions and terminology of sustainable and responsible management 2) Standards and guidelines in the field of corporate social responsibility 3) Management systems, models and strategies for corporate social responsibility 4) Methods, techniques and tools for implementing, evaluating and measuring corporate social responsibility practices 5) Examples of good practices and case studies

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

Knowledge and understanding: At the end of the course, the students will be able to: • develop the basic building blocks of a corporate social responsibility management system; • evaluate an organization's activities from a corporate social responsibility perspective and recommend improvements and/or alternative strategies; • develop and apply the methodology for assessment of an organization’s activities from a corporate social responsibility standpoint; • development of criteria for evaluation of the level of compliance with existing standards for social responsibility in a specific organization; • interpret and compare different standardized and non-standardized corporate sustainability system/models.
