As the free optional course, the student can choose one of the courses offered as optional course I from set I, or any other course from the offer of courses of the FERI Master's Programmes, other University of Maribor members or other universities in the amount of at least 6 ECTS credits. The actual number of contact hours depends on the optional course chosen by the student.

In the event that a small number of students (less than 5) are enrolled in an individual optional course, direct pedagogical work may be carried out in the amount of at least 10% of the planned contact hours in a mentoring form. The rest of the credit points provided for in the curriculum are achieved by the student through individual consultations, project work, seminar assignments or e-learning elements. Contact hours (Other forms of study) for the Master's thesis are intended as individual consultations with a mentor.
