Text about acceptance

The study programme was in the course of the accreditation procedure validated October 27, 2017, by the University of Maribor, Senate of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences Kranj, and, after that, December 19, 2017, by the Senate of the University of Maribor, the decision about the study programme accreditation was granted by the Council of the Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (SQAA) as of October 18, 2018.

Advancement criteria of a study programme

Conditions for progression to the 2nd year: a student advances into 2nd year, if he has collected at least 47 ECTS credits with the obligations of the 1st year that he completed. Conditions for progression to the 3rd year: a student advances into 3rd year, if he has completed all obligations of the 1st year (collected 60 ECTS) and has collected at least 48 ECTS credits in the 2nd year.

Criteria for completing separate parts of a study programme

At the moment, the 1st-Cycle Professional study programme does not include parts which can be completed singly.

A graduate may continue studies at: - the 2nd-cyclel Master's study programme

Assesment criteria

Methods of testing knowledge are defined in the each individual course syllabus.

Main study programme objectives

The objective of the Crisis management program is to educate students for: facing uncertainty and comprehensive risk management; the ability to mediate and solve crisis situations in the area of internal risk management in organizations, external risk management associated with organizations and external risk management that extend beyond the framework of organizations; crisis prevention at the organizational level and in the environment; and acquiring managerial competencies (strategy design, goal setting, operation management, information management, management of people and other resources) and personal competencies (professional development, psychology, social skills, self-management).

Access requirements

In the 1st–cycle professional higher study programme Crisis management anyone can enrol who has completed the final exam in any four year high school programme, vocational matura or matura.

Selection criteria in the event of limited enrolment

If the Decision of Limited Enrolment is adopted, the candidates will be selected according to: - The overall achievement at the final examination, vocational matura or matura: 60% of the points, - overall achievement in the 3rd and 4th year: 40% of the points.

Transfer criteria between study programmes

Transfers between study programmes are possible in accordance with the Higher Education Act and the Criteria for Transfers between Study Programmes and other regulations. It is possible to transfer to the first cycle study programme Crisis Management (VS) from first cycle higher professional study programmes and first cycle university study programmes in the field of business and administrative sciences (KLASIUS-P:16 48), provided that at the end of the study programme they provide the acquisition of comparable competences and can be credited with at least half of the study requirements (ECTS points) from the first study programme as compulsory subjects in the present study programme and that they fulfill the conditions for enrolment in the present study programme. Depending on the extent of the recognized obligations from the first study programme, the student may enroll in the second or higher year of the first cycle study programme in Crisis Management (VS). The competent committee or the chair of the FOV UM may allow enrolment in a higher year if the candidate has been awarded at least as many ECTS credits in the recognition process as the requirement for enrolment in the higher year of the first cycle study programme Crisis Management (VS) and determines the missing requirements that he/she must complete in order to graduate from the new study programme. In addition to the application form, which is submitted in accordance with the call for applications via the EVŠ system, the candidate must also submit to the FOV UM a validated certificate of the completed study requirements and a validated programme of the content of the completed study requirements from the first study programme. If more applicants apply than there are places available, they will be selected on the basis of the average grade of their previous studies.

Criteria for recognition of knowledge and skills, gained before the enrolment in the study programme

Criteria for recognition of knowledge and skills are regulated by Regulations on knowledge and skill recognition in study programmes of the University of Maribor.

Criteria for completing the study

A student completes the study programme when all obligations of the programme are fulfilled, when the diploma thesis is successfully defended and when at least 180 ECTS are collected altogether.
