Objectives and competences
Qualifying students:
? with in-depth knowledge and understanding of different theoretical development streams in project management and about specifics, cross-sections and contradictions between them
? for analytical treatment and integration of particular project management phenomena and for understanding of these phenomena through the perspective of the respective and related other areas
? for scientific research work in the field of project management business operations and project management with knowledge about methodological approaches in this area, a critical approach to existing research findings, the ability to critically analyze complex areas of research and synthesis of new knowledge in this field,
? for performing independent scientific research and for cooperation and management of interdisciplinary research teams and projects, for the development of a clear research plan and the use of different sources of knowledge and information as well as for providing new skills.

? Knowledge base: has great depth and systematic understanding of a substantial body of knowledge on project management. Can work with theoretical / research knowledge at the forefront of the discipline at peer reviewed standards/ publication quality
? Ethical issues: can analyse and manage the implications of ethical dilemmas and work pro-actively with others to formulate solutions
? Disciplinary methodologies: has a comprehensive understanding of techniques / methodologies applicable to the discipline (theory or research-based).

? Analysis: with critical awareness, can undertake analysis, managing complexity, incompleteness of data or contradictions in the areas of project management knowledge
? Synthesis: can synthesise new approaches, in a manner that can contribute to the development of methodology or understanding in the discipline and practice of project management
