Objectives and competences
The goals of the course are to acquaint students with modern paradigms in the field of information systems for knowledge management and to train students to act correctly in individual areas of computerization of knowledge management and to use individual technologies in knowledge management.
In the part dedicated to these paradigms, the course focuses on different models of information systems for knowledge management.
In the part, which is intended for training for correct behaviour in individual situations, the course focuses on an in-depth analysis of cases in various areas of computerization of knowledge management and on the teaching of multiple software products.
Content (Syllabus outline)
Course consists of following topics: paradigms of information resources for management support, information systems for management support, management support in ERP solutions, management information systems, management support in e-business, intranet and management support, internet and management support, information sources and information databases, e-learning, multimedia, support for cooperative work, workflow management, information technologies for management support, , and ethical dilemmas of business intelligence and the effects on the responsible behaviour and sustainability orientation of the organization.
* An invited guest/lecturer from abroad will be included in the implementation.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
1. Student will possess a depth and systematic understanding of knowledge in business intelligence solutions and can work with theoretical / research-based knowledge at the forefront of their academic discipline. (PILO 1a)
2. Will be aware and capable of managing the implications of ethical dilemmas and work proactively with others to formulate solutions. (PILO 4a)
3. Will have a comprehensive understanding of analysis, development and implementation techniques/ methodologies applicable to their work. (PILO 3a)
4. Will generate critical awareness and the capacity to undertake analysis of complex, incomplete or contradictory areas of knowledge, communicating the business intelligence solutions effectively. (PILO 1a)
5. Will innovative synthesise information, utilising knowledge or processes from the forefront of business intelligence solutions. (PILO 2a)
6. Will design and implement business intelligence solutions. (PILO 4a)
7. Will demonstrate initiative and originality in problem-solving and will act autonomously in planning and implementing business intelligence solutions at a professional or equivalent level, making decisions in complex and unpredictable situations in the area of business intelligence solutions. (PILO 2a)
8. Will work effectively in a group as a leader or member. Will clarify tasks and make appropriate use of the capacities of group members. Will be able to negotiate and handle conflict with confidence. (PILO 3c)
9. Will use software tools for business intelligence and techniques for preparing, analysing and visualizing data. (PILO 2a)
