Objectives and competences

The course focuses on understanding strategic human resource management, emphasizing its crucial role in achieving a company's strategic goals through the analysis of HR strategy models, evaluation of influencing factors, and definition of international aspects in this context. By studying these elements, students develop the ability to analyze and formulate human resource strategies, enabling further independent education and training in the field of strategic human resource management.

• The strategic role of HRM function in enterprises • The nature of strategic human resources management • Dimensions of strategic HRM • The impact of organizational factors on strategic HRM • The impact of environmental factors on strategic HRM • Formulating and implementing HRM strategies • Rules of strategic HRM • Human resource strategy models • Evaluating models of human resources strategies • Improving business performance through strategic HRM • Strategies for improving effectiveness of organizations • Employee diversity management • Age management • Strategic HRM in an international environment

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

In this course students: 1. Students will use general content and methodological knowledge to address issues of newer approaches to strategic human resource management (SHR) (Pilo 1a), 2. Students will use general and specific knowledge about human resource development to address companies (PILO 2a), 3. Students will use general and specific knowledge to explain different approaches to development (SHR) in companies (PILO 2a), 4. Students will use new knowledge in the field of development (SHR) to address contemporary issues of organizations (PILO 3a), 5. Students will use content and methodological knowledge about HR to implicate newer concepts of problem solving and decision-making about HR development (PILO 3a), 6. Students will use knowledge and skills for independent and innovative resolution of practical problems in the field of HR development (PILO 3a, PILO 4a), 7. Students will use knowledge and skills for complex analysis and critical assessment of individual solutions in the field of SMČV development, their application in practice and presentation of their results (PILO 2c, PILO 4b), 8. Students will use knowledge and skills to organize independent work and work in a group (as a leader or member) and develop communication skills to effectively present the results of work (PILO 3c), 9. Students will use knowledge and skills to understand the use of digitalization, automation, robotization and artificial intelligence and critically assess the results of their application in SMČV practice (PILO 3a) and 10. Students will use knowledge and skills to ethically, socially responsible and sustainably solve practical problems in the field of SMČV development (PILO 4b, PILO 4c). The PILO label (i.e., Programme Intended Learning Outcomes) defines the contribution of each listed intended learning outcome of a course towards achieving the general and/or subject-specific competencies or learning outcomes acquired through the programme.
