Objectives and competences

The course has two main sets of objectives – to present business information solutions and teach students how to select and implement business information solution. The course is in the first part focused in the information systems business value, in the business process redesign, in the paradigm of business information solutions and in the methodologies of solution implementation. In the second part it is focused in learning how to redesign business process and how to prepare project of selection and project of implementation. Course consists of following topics: business process redesign, and methods of business process redesign, business information systems, business information systems selection process, implementation methods, support and activities after implementation, development trends in the field of business information solutions.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

Development of knowledge and understanding: Students: • Knowledge base: has depth and systematic understanding of knowledge in business information solutions and can work with theoretical / research-based knowledge at the forefront of their academic discipline • Ethical issues: has the awareness and ability to manage the implications of ethical dilemmas and work pro-actively with others to formulate solutions Disciplinary methodologies: has a comprehensive understanding analysing, developing and implementation techniques / methodologies applicable to their own work.
