Objectives and competences

In this course, students: 1. Enhance their theoretical knowledge in the field of business information solutions and are able to apply it. 2. Gain the ability to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice in the business information solutions field. 3. Acquire approaches to implement business information solutions 4. Acquire advanced knowledge of basic theoretical approaches in the field of information systems

Content (Syllabus outline)

The course consists of the following topics: - The information architecture of digital organisations. - Business information solutions to support operational processes in organisations. - Comprehensive information solutions (ERP solutions). - Business processes in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (work environment, procurement process, production process, sales process, finance, service, human resource planning, projects). - Vertical (industry-specific) vs horizontal ERP solutions - Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations solution. - Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation methodology - Using artificial intelligence in business intelligence solutions - Sustainability aspects in business IT solutions - Setting up IT consultancy companies - Odoo solution (modules related to operational process support). - Trends in the field of business information solutions. As part of the course, one of the ERP solutions will be presented in more detail, with which students will work practically. The seminar will cover the functionalities and practical use of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central solution and Odoo solution.

Development of knowledge and understanding: Students: 1. Acquire specific knowledge in the field of business information solutions 2. Have a detailed knowledge of theories in the field of Microsoft Dynamics 365 in Odoo 3. Learn to recognise information interconnections in the field of business processes. 4. Develop the skills to interpret the gained results in the field of business solution implementation. 5. Learn how to analyse and synthesise different approaches in the field of information support. 6. Are able to pursue further analysis regarding information support 7. Are qualified to control and supervise the implementation of business solutions 8. Can demonstrate awareness of wider social and environmental ethical issues in areas of information support

Cognitive/Intellectual skills: Students: 1. With minimum guidance, understand and apply critical analysis and theory development and their usability in solving real professional problems. 2. Get the ability to search for and synthesise new information from the field of business information solutions in literature and praxis. 3. Synthesise different knowledge and procedures and know the importance of using professional literature. 4. Select appropriate problem-solving techniques and evaluate the importance and significance of data. 5. Can identify key aspects of the problem from different viewpoints. Key/Transferable skills Students: 1. Further develop skills and expertise in the use of knowledge in a specific working area. 2. Upgrade the ability to become an autonomous learner. 3. Upgrade the ability to apply information technology. 4. Upgrade the ability to work in pairs and groups. 5. Further, effectively develop their communication skills to effectively and professionally communicate. Practical skills: Students: 1. Get practical experience in the field of Microsoft Dynamics 365 solution and Odoo solution. 2. Are able to act autonomously with defined guidelines and certain level of supervision.
