Objectives and competences
In this course students:
1. Systematically enhance their theoretical knowledge in the field of Management Information systems (MIS) in healthcare and are able to apply it.
2. Gain the ability to apply their theoretical knowledge in complex practical problems in the field of MIS in healthcare
3. Acquire approach to analysis of MIS in healthcare and are able to critically evaluate it.
4. Make critical judgements based on a sound theoretical base.
Content (Syllabus outline)
Course consists of following topics in healthcare: paradigms for managerial information support, information systems for managers, data warehouses, report systems, OLAP tools, analytical tools, Data science and AI tools, information systems for cooperative work, management information systems analysis and design in healthcare,
Healthcare stakeholders expectations analysis: providers, patients, insurers, regulators, IT vendors, and the general publics.
We introduce include predictive analytics for complex clinical conditions, e-health initiatives, mobile health apps, compliance reporting, patient safety and data safety, medication management, and disease management.
We analyse trends on the field of management information systems in healthcare, advanced Excel use, basics of selected OLAP tool (i.e. Microstrategy) and predictive analytics IE Rapid Miner
