Objectives and competences
In this course students:
1. Systematically upgrade theoretical knowledge on mastering the changes in contemporary companies’ global business environment;
2. Systematically develop an understanding of managing change in the contemporary global business environment, the fundamental strategic aspects of international business and the performance of operational tasks in international business.Gain the ability to apply their theoretical knowledge for solving the practical problems from companies’ international business operation.
3. Make critical judgements of the challenges of companies’ international business operation.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
Development of knowledge and understanding:
1. Acquire comprehensive knowledge of contemporary companies’ global business environment (globalization and its impacts on companies’ business performance, requisite responses of companies to the changed circumstances in the global business environment, dimensions of companies’ international business environment);
2. 2. Acquire comprehensive knowledge of key strategic and operational aspects of companies’ international business operation (motives for international business, the analysis and selection of foreign markets, modes of entering foreign markets, creating a marketing program for foreign markets, the concept and the role of international commercial terms in international business, calculations of export prices, modes of insurance in international business, origin of goods in international business, key aspects of international business negotiations, export/import business planning); Gain a comprehensive knowledge of approaches to strengthening ethics in international business and understand their benefits for business, economies and societies (identifying forms of unethical practices in international business and understanding their harmful effects, knowledge of possible approaches of companies to strengthening ethics in international business and understanding their benefits for business).

To obtain a grade in the course, it is compulsory to take all forms of assessment. A student obtains a pass mark in a course when both partial forms of assessment are passed.
