Objectives and competences

• Acquire knowledge about the organisation and the potential work environment in the organisation. • Gaining work experience related to the student's course of study. • Familiarise with the organisation, its work workflow, and the dynamics of business operations (e.g. solving problems in the operation of the organisation). • Developing the competence of transferring acquired theoretical knowledge to the working environment in the organisation. • Acquisition of competences in the work environment related to the student's study orientation.

Content (Syllabus outline)

The student completes 240 hours of practical training in the selected work organisation (in the private or public sector). The student performs various tasks, primarily tasks from the chosen study field (the study field's special courses). In the work organisation, the student will acquainted with the organisation, its structure, its work processes, and potential problems arising in its operations. The student also will be acquainted with methods, techniques, technologies, computer programs and other tools used in the organisation's work processes. The student can take part in solving problems by submitting proposals, which, for example, arose as a result of discussions, independent, guided or group work. Learning and teaching methods

The student has an assigned work mentor in the work organisation and an appointed head of the study field at the faculty (lecturer for practical training). Both provide students with appropriate professional advice during the practical training (e.g. in the form of a discussion). The student independently learns while performing individual or group work during practical training, including solving actual problems in the organisation. During the practical training, the student can use various work tools (e.g. computer programs) and develop various professional competences. During the practical training, a student keeps a work diary and must prepare a practical training report.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

Knowledge and understanding: • Ability to organise work in an organisation (at least in more straightforward jobs). • Ability to recognise possible problems when performing work. • Ability (based on analysis) to propose a solution to a potentially recognised problem in the performance of work or to suggest improvements in work. • Ability to discuss work and implement a proposal to solve the problem. • Keeping a log of activities during practical training. • Report on practical training during practical training.
