Objectives and competences
Objectives:
• Understanding the role and system of technical documentation in the development process and the entire life cycle of the product.
• Understanding the basic concepts of computer graphics.
• Apply 3D modelling methods for geometry modeling in CAD systems.
• List and explain the importance of geometric models in the development and production process.
Competences:
• To acquire techniques of presenting the spatial form of an object with projections. Preparation of technical documentation.
• Use of CAD systems for creating technical documentation.
Content (Syllabus outline)
• Introduction to graphics communications and the role of documentation in engineering process.
• Computer graphics, 3D modelling and impact of CAD systems in 3D and 2D documentation.
• CAD systems and 3D geometry modelling methods.
• From sketch to body.
• Techniques to form assemblies.
• Use parametric notation of features.
• Technical drawings, gudelines, views, projections, sections, dimensioning and tolerancing; reading and constructing drawings using ISO standards.
• Production of technical documentation from 3D models – drawings and bill of materials.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
Knowledge and understanding:
• Understanding the basic of technical expression by using sketch, drawing and computer model.
• Using of spatial modelling and visualization of objects.
• Combined use of different standards for technical drawing and software for drawing and modelling. Production of assembly and part drawing.
• Finishing drawings (views, sections, GDT).

• Understanding the importance of creating and presenting geometry in product development.
