Objectives and competences

Objectives: Knowledge acquisition of basic measurements of physical quantities and measuring instrumentation. Competences: Ability to use the acquired knowledge from measurements of physical quantities and measuring instrumentation for use and upgrading in further education and work environments.

Content (Syllabus outline)

Terms in measurement technics, units of measurement, SI system, references and standards, measurement errors, determination of the true value, measuring instruments, expansion of measuring range, measuring bridges, compensators, measurement of electrical and non-electrical quantities, measuring transformers, monitoring quantities.

Learning and teaching methods

Lectures: in the lectures, the student learns the theoretical content of the course. Tutorials: in the tutorials, the student consolidates theoretical knowledge and learns about application possibilities.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

Knowledge and understanding: After the completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. present units of measurement and measurement errors 2. present bindings and instrumentation for the measurement of physical quantities and the part of theoretical knowledge necessary for the successful execution of measurements 3. present the measurement of electrical quantities and non-electrical physical quantities indirectly with the measurement of electrical quantities 4. identify how safe work with measuring instrumentation is performed; 5. use measuring instruments and related equipment 6. apply general and prior knowledge to measurements and measuring systems

Intended learning outcomes - transferable/key skills and other attributes

Transferable/key competences and other abilities: 1. apply knowledge in the field of measurements basics in other courses of this study program, in further studies and in work environments
