Objectives and competences
The objective of this course is for students to know, understand, and be able to design and analyse basic electronic circuits for amplification, shaping, generating, converting and processing of signals.
Content (Syllabus outline)
• Amplifier circuits: classification and elementary properties, small-signal amplifier stages with BJT and MOS transistors, cascading amplifier stages, differential amplifier, frequency response.
• Operational amplifiers: types, basic circuits, and applications, feedback circuits with operational amplifiers, properties of negative feedback.
• Large signal amplifiers: amplifier classification, basic circuits, push-pull complementary circuits, integrated circuits power amplifiers, and power supplies.
• Waveform generators and waveshaping: voltage-controlled oscillators, frequency synthesizers.
• Signal processing circuits: sample and hold circuits, AD and DA converters, passive and active filters, finite and infinite impulse response digital filters.

Use of information technology: use of www for technical data search and recommended aplications of the circuits.
Calculation skills: design of simple electronic circuits, calculations of circuit properties.
Problem solving: selecttion of electroic komponents, the analysing and implementation of basic electronic circuits.
Practical skills: lab work performing, composing the measurement circuits, using the measurement instruments.
