Objectives and competences

Insight into Croatian grammar and the historical development; The possibility of linguistic comparision of Croatian to Slovenian; Using literature in Croatian language with the help of additional tools (dictionaries, grammars).

Content (Syllabus outline)

Historical development of Croatian language, The Croatian alphabet, Basic morphology of Croatian language, Basic vocabulary to communicate on everyday topics. Overview Croatian phonology, orthography and phonology in comparison with the Slovenian language, - Morphologie of Croatian language, - The basics of Croatian syntax - Croatian language, culture and traditions throughout history, - Communication patterns in Croatian, - Excursion in Croatia.

Learning and teaching methods

• teamwork; • individual work; • excursion in Croatia; The information and communications technology is used for educational purposes in the teaching and learning process.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

Knowledge and understanding: After completing language courses the student: • communicate in predictable situations on everyday topics, • understand the essential information in short written and spoken texts • can writes short texts (birthday card, postcard) • his speaking and writting is simple, but accurate and correct, so communication is largely disturbed.
