Objectives and competences
• develop the ability of the students to understand different texts in a variety of contexts based on selected text samples of medium difficulty and to systematically build vocabulary
• develop students' knowledge of the German grammar
• develop students' knowledge in the field of receptive and productive skills
• enable students to become efficient and flexible users and analyzer of the German language
• enable students for an adequate evaluation of lingual utterances
Content (Syllabus outline)
• acquisition of vocabulary
• dealing with selected grammar structures
• consolidation of the acquired grammar based on selected text samples of medium difficulty (literary, non-literary, etc.) for translation purposes
• correct spelling of words in texts
• learning about cultural and historical features of German speaking countries

On completion of this course students will:
• correctly use German grammar
• use grammar textbooks and other resources and technical literature
• use and analyze the German language
• get to know the culture of German speaking countries
• improve their orthography (spelling)
