Objectives and competences

Students will: Deepen their knowledge on the theory of attachment and its application in education and counselling; Learn to use instruments for measuring attachment in toddlers, children, adolescents and adults; Understand the relationship between attachment and other dimensions of development; Recognize individual differences in the development of attachment in practice, also, discouraging and encouraging factors and learn how to act educationally and how to advise parents, educators and teachers appropriately; Learn about the critical use of scientific findings in the area of the development of attachment; Develop the ability to clearly express themselves in writing and orally.

Theory of attachment (J. Bowlby) Secure attachment during infancy, toddlerhood, and childhood Attachment in adolescence and adulthood Multiple attachments Measuring the secured attachment Stability of attachment Relations between attachment and other areas of development, such as motor, cognitive, social development, development of language, play, drawing and self-perception Attachment in different cultural environments Attachment, evolution and religion Application of the theory of attachment in education and counselling

Learning and teaching methods

lectures; a seminar with discussion problem solving methods representations case studies discussion work with texts for analysis The information and communications technology is used for educational purposes in the teaching and learning process.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

After completing the course requirements, the student will have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the development of attachment in humans at all ages; he/she will be able to apply attachment theory in education and counselling.

The student will be able to critically use and apply scientific and professional findings of developmental psychology; he/she will strengthen his/her readiness for continuous professional education; he/she will be able Pedagoška to recognize developmental characteristics for the purposes of education and counselling.
