Objectives and competences
Main objectives of the subject are:
acquaintance with the basic theoretical perspectives in the field of psychology of religion.
acquaintance with the empirical research and research methods in the area of religiosity
understanding the psychological and sociological functions of religiosity
in-depth knowledge about worl deligions
understanding the role of religion and spirituality in the context of individual’s psychological well-being
the ability of critical thinking concerning the issues related to religion.
Content (Syllabus outline)
Students will be introduced to the basic scientific approaches towards understanding the relationship between individual and religion. Special attention will be given to issuessuch as: religion in an evolutionary perspective; typologies of religion and religiosity; basic characteristics of world religions; characteristics and interpretations of religious experiences; religion in light of cognitive and evolutionary psychology, religion and spirituality in light of positive psychology, Religion-Adapted Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (R-CBT) and other aspects of religion in psychotherapy.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
At the conclusion of the course students should (a) be able to understand consumer behaviour basics and (b) be familiar with internal and external factors of customer behaviour processes.

student is capable of taking active role in an empirical research in the area of religion.
Student is able to integrate religiosity of individuals in his/her practice as a psychologist.
