Objectives and competences
Students:
- get acquainted with main characteristics of tourist development in Europe, factors of its development, connections between a landscape’s potentials and the actual development of tourism, to evaluate the effects of tourist development,
Content (Syllabus outline)
1. Development of tourism in Europe.
2. Tourism in seaside areas of Europe.
3. Tourism in mountains areas of Europe.
4. Various types of tourism in Europe.
5. Main tourist regions in Europe.
6. New trends in the European tourist industry.
7. Field work.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
Students:
- understand the meaning of tourism for development in main tourist regions in Europe,
- acquaint the recent processes in tourist regions,
- are able to use different research methods for analyzing tourist areas,
are able to prepere and lead excursion.
Intended learning outcomes - transferable/key skills and other attributes
- ability to use sources and information communication tehnologies,
- ability for practical use of knowledge and solving concrete geographical problems,
- enhanced essay and report writing skills,
- enhanced skills of cooperation and team work, enhanced oral presentation skills.
