Objectives and competences

Students: - acquire knowledge about climatic elements that shape the climate, - understand weather processes and phenomena, - understand the most important laws of energy and matter transfer in the atmosphere, - use the methodology of climate analysis of the landscape and the methods of climate typification and regionalization of the earth's surface in concrete cases, - connect the operation of air conditioning elements, - familiarize themselves with meteorological instruments, methods of measuring and observing the weather, - measure and analyze the state of the main climate elements, - interpret climatic differences in a given landscape, their causes and consequences.

1. Climatology – introduction 2. Weather and climate 3. Atmosphere 4. Eneregy transportation in atmosphere 5. Air temperature 6. Air humidity 7. Air pressure 8. Circulation in atmosphere and weather fronts 9. Climatological classification and regionalisation 10. Anthropogenic climatic changes 11. Global climate change 12. Anthropogenic climate changes on the local level

Learning and teaching methods

- lectures, - seminary work, - field work.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

- are qualified to make field meteorological measurements, - are able to interpret the results of human impact on the climate.

Intended learning outcomes - transferable/key skills and other attributes

- qualified to analyse climate impact on the other landscape elements, - capable to estimate the suitability of climate for different human activities (agriculture, traffic, tourism etc.).

Conditions for inclusion in work: none. Conditions for taking the exam: completed (positively graded) seminar paper, at least 80% participation in seminars and seminar tutorials, active participation in field work.
