Objectives and competences

The objective of the course is to familiarize with contemporary theory concepts, principaly spatial ones, for literary-scientific discussion of Germanspeaking systems of regional literature in contact communication spaces and their social embedding.

Content (Syllabus outline)

• Spatial turn, theoretical concepts and models of space and spaciality in literature • Regional literature in German literary system and its literary-scientific perception • Main structures and characteristics in the German speaking regional literature in contact cultural spaces • Model studies of German regional medial system - literature, theater, newspapers, films, digital media – in hybrid cultural spaces with regard of media and social context and social functions: forming of identities, selfreflection and diferenciality.

Learning and teaching methods

- Lecture - Seminar - Discussion - Presentation of seminar work - The information and communications technology is used for educational purposes in teaching and learning process.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

• To critically analyse relations between literary system and other social (sub)systems; • To evaluate the signification of social factors of influ- ence on literary systems in cultural hybrid regions; • To apply relevant theoretical concepts and models in the research of German speaking regional literature system as a social category; • To interprete relations between regional and central li- terary systems in historical and current perspective; • To identify autonomously literary, cultural and other social practices; • To evalute autonomously, systematically and critically primary and secondary literature.

Intended learning outcomes - transferable/key skills and other attributes

• research approach and focussing on problem- solving • communication skills – oral presentation of the seminar work, writing skills in the seminar work; • use of information technology – seeking of information on the web and their use; • group work.
