The objectiv of this subject is:
Get acquinted with topics, methods and objects in contemporary research of intercultural communication in the field of literary science
Content (Syllabus outline)
• Methods and models of intercultural German studies
• Cultural identities and globalisation
• German studies as cultural studies – description and paradigms – demonstration on empirical examples
• Historical anthropology and literature
• Postcolonial theories and criticism in global and European culture and politics

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
Konwledge and Understanding
• Knowledge of basic methods and concepts of intercultural German studies
• Recognition of importance of these concepts for analysis of intercultural contacts
• Knowledge of basic terms, premises and research results of intercultural literary science
• Capacity of understanding the intercultural literary science with regard of its method and function in research of cultural transfer
• Capacity of understanding the relations between the literary system and other social systems
• Ability of autonomous, advanced, systematic and critical work with primary and secondary literature and their appearing forms in other medias in German speaking areas
