Objectives and competences
The objectives of the course: On teh basis of the transcultural theory and by means of the text anlysis the student will get acquainted with the basic findings of the transcultural theory an critics (especially with the broad understanding of the culture and with the presence of the elements of different cultures in the German speaking countries as this is reflected in literary works.)
Content (Syllabus outline)
On the baisis of the transcultural theory and by means of text analysis this course delas with the 20th century literature of the German speaking world, on the basis of literary constructing of identities and it investigates the influence of the autobiographical elements on the writing. The course is based on the basic elements of interpretation (author-text-context) and focuses on the theme and problem complexes; definition of transculturality; identity and globalization and particularisation; the foreign in literature; the autobiographical discourse; the emergence of the modern novel in the first half of the 20th century in the context of the social changes: migration literature after 1945; emergency and conflicts in the literature written by migrants.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
The student is acquinted with the term transculturality: he/she lerans its influence on the social, especially cultural life; he/she is acquainted with the theme complexes in selected works; he/she can critically evaluate the autobiographical elements in this works; he/she can critically value evaluate and analyse literary texts; he/she can connect different texts; he/she can see the foreign on diffenrent levels; he she can see the mutual effect of the production and reception he/she can set up the relation between the literary work
and social, political and other factors;

On the completion of this course the student will be able:
