Objectives and competences
The student acquires the basics of teaching and learning German as a foreign language (methods, tendencies); is able to organize the work in the foreign language classroom; knows and is able to implement Slovene and internatiopnal standardas of assessment and testing; is able to maximize the learning effects and the teaching of German as a foreign language on different levels of education.
Content (Syllabus outline)
- Theory and practice in teaching German as a foreign language (approaches, methods, tendencies, development);
- organization of work in the foreign language classroom;
- Slovene and international standards of language knowledge, assessment and testing of language competencies;
- intercultural and multilingual approach to foreign language learning;
- maximizing the learning effects and the teaching through flexible use of didactic concepts.
- methods of working with literary texts and didactisations of selected literary texts
- geographic and cultural informations in literal and non-literal texts

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
Student knows and understands the methodology and didactics of learning and teaching German; knows and is able to implement different standards of language competencies into the teaching and assessment in language classroom.
Student knows how to adapt and teach literature in the foreign language classroom.
Intended learning outcomes - transferable/key skills and other attributes
Student can indirectly and directly implement the theoretical knowledge about teaching and learning into the pedagogical work; knows the national and international acknowledged standards of assessment and testing and other specialties of teaching German and applies them on the different phases of planning, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning.
