Objectives and competences

The objective of this course is to familiarize students with the basics of consecutive interpreting, to acquaint students with note-taking techniques, show them what to note, how to take notes, abbreviations and symbols, develop their listening skills, memorization and rhetorical competences.

Content (Syllabus outline)

Consecutive interpreting. Consecutive interpreting stages (listening, analysis, memorizing, output). Note-taking technique. Basic elements of note-taking. Note-taking goals. Note-taking process. Note-taking technique. Symbols. Abbreviations. Individuality of notes.
