Introducing (theoretically and practically) students of philosophy and students of other departments
and encourage them for further training.
Content (Syllabus outline)
Philosophical assumptions of Philosophy with children (PwC). Philosophy as reflection and questioning of everyday life. Philosophy with Children in philosophical education in general and in school curriculum in particular. Levels of teaching in PwC: appropriate aims and methods. The relationship between content and process. The role of philosophical discussion in PwC. Elements of philosophical thinking on each level. Student novels and teacher manuals: the nature of philosophical problems, didactic problems in each novel and implications for methods of teaching.

Learning and teaching methods
The course is based on the principles of experiential learning: it will be a combination of theoretical and practical work in groups. Analysis of audio/video recordings included.
Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
- Insight into and understanding of basic principles of Philosophy with Children.
- Understanding of process in PwC: the ability of conceptualisation of the process and possibility of choice of appropriate interventions.
- Ability of developing particular elements of philosophical thinking with children.
- Ability of holistic approach (cognitive, social and emotional)
- Ability to relate theory and experience.
