Objectives and competences

Introducing (theoretically and practically) students of philosophy and students of other departments and develop their skills for developing basic elements of philosophical thinking with children.

Content (Syllabus outline)

- The nature of philosophical problems in each novel, - didactic problems in each novel and - implications for methods of teaching. - Content emphasis: moral issues ( eg Lisa)

Learning and teaching methods

The course is based on the principles of experiential learning: it will be a combination of theoretical and practical work in groups. Analysis of audio/video recordings included.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

At the end of the course students will be expected to demonstrate: - Insight into and understanding of basic principles of Philosophy with Children. - Understanding of process in PwC: the ability of conceptualisation of the process and possibility of choice of appropriate interventions. - Ability of developing particular elements of philosophical thinking with children. - Ability of holistic approach (cognitive, social and emotional) - Ability to relate theory and experience.
