Objectives and competences
Students:
- acquire knowledge and skills to evaluate regionalizations of local, national and global environment based on various criteria with a focus on sustainable development criteria;
- develop critical and creative thinking, problem-solving sustainable development on the regional level;
- develop skills for social participation at various levels of decision making.
Content (Syllabus outline)
1.Theory of the region and regional geography paradigme development.
2. Regionalizations and their purposes.
3. Methodological dimensions of mental perception of the region.
4. Attitude towards space as a basis for co-shaping life at various regional levels.
5. Status and perspectives of research in the field of selected contents in regional geography of the world and Slovenia.
6. Slovenian and European regional policy.
Learning and teaching methods
Lectures, seminar, seminary work (conversation with discussion)
The information and communications technology is used for educational purposes in the teaching and learning process.
Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
- transfer theoretical knowledge into practice;
- use various resources to find and display the geographic / environmental information;
- use education and information communication technology;
- identify examples of good practices of sustainable regional operations;
- evaluate the examples of different regionalizations of Slovenia and use them for for proposals for sustainable solutions.
