Objectives and competences
Subject analyzes non-European cultural societies and their first contacts with the Europeans. A very important teaching contents emerges with the spread of colonialism – world economic exchange (import – export, main trade routs, slavery, competition). At the same time it comments relations between colonial great powers in newly founded colonies and their recurring influence on the relations in Europe.

Selected Topics in-depth study of:
The period of European research and discoveries.
European overseas expansion:
The importance of international trade in black Africa and its countries.
China and East Asia
Land of Southeast Asia and the arrival of Europeans. Re-rise of Islam.
Mogulsko Empire and the rise of British influence in India.
Learning and teaching methods
Lectures, seminar, individual study, discussion. The information and communications technology is used for educational purposes in the teaching and learning process.
Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
Knowledge of the modern period non-european history, helps student to analyze the most important developmental processes of that time and also the events and their consequences are evident to him.
