Objectives and competences
To provide students with an understanding of the potentials and the importance of automation in construction, to learn about key technologies, various automated systems, and the ways and requirements of using them in construction projects.
Content (Syllabus outline)
1. Overview of automation in construction
2. Automated data capturing (sensors, scanners, remote sensing)
3. Application of 3D point couds in AEC (for BIM reconstruction, design and maintenance of infrastructure objects)
4. Automated building technologies
5. Additive technologies in construction (3D print)
6. Automated construction monitoring using BIM
Learning and teaching methods
Lectures on specific thematic topics, problem based teaching and learning, encouraging students to solve specific problems, to be ready for commitment and active participation, and to use modern and traditional media; comparison of theory and practice.
Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
