Objectives and competences

Aims and goals / objectives of the subject are: - To get knowledge about basic terms in the field of road construction, road construction materials and also geotechnical and traffic viewpoint for design of pavement structures. - To get knowledge about laboratory / field examinations and interpretation of the results and acquired experiences. - To understand and use of procedures and methods for pavement structures design. - To get knowledge about properties of the pavements - To explain technologies of the road construction works.

Content (Syllabus outline)

- The General Principles of Road construction, technical terminology. - Road construction materials, recycled materials - Traffic loadings. - Sustainable pavement structures design. - Theoretical procedures for pavement structures design. - Empirical procedures for pavement structures design. - Standard procedures for pavement structures design. - Design of flexible and concrete pavement structures. - Sustainable pavement structures construction - Pavement structures on traffic infrastructures objects. - Technologies of the road construction works.
