Final Chapter: Alternative energy sources propulsion engines (hybrid drives, fuel cells, etc..). Ecological aspects (emission, recycling, etc..).

Learning and teaching methods

Lecturers (explanation of the subject using collected notes, using up-to date didactical methods and techniques – projections, movies, computer simulations and animations etc.), auditoria practice (practical work based on achieved theoretical knowledge), seminar work (preparing students on developing their own assignment work).

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

After successful completion of the study unit students should be able to: - distinguish between different physical quantities and their influence on the choice of means of transport - select the appropriate means of transport according to the requirements to be performed - define the optimal operating conditions of the means of transport - select a suitable drive unit according to environmental requirements - use kinematic and other physical parameters to determine the required driving power of the means of transport.
