Objectives and competences

The objective of this course is to evolve critical thinking on the interactions of the development of architectural and urban forms, understanding the historical development of architectural and urban forms, to recognise the influence of topography, climate, society and culture on the development of architectural and urban forms, integrate knowledge of architectural and urban theory to gain the ability for independently and creatively exploring of contemporary urban and architectural forms

Zgodovina razvoja arhitekture s poudarkom na ključnih momentih, ki generirajo spremembe v družbi in urbanem razvoju: - Postmodernizem; - Modernizem; - Secesija; - Barok; - Renesansa; - Gotika; - Romanika; - Antika - Rim; - Antika - Grčija; - Stari Egipt; Seminarska vaja: Esej o zgodovini arhitekture: analiza povezave arhitekture, prosotra in časa glede na umetniško obdobje. Seminar: Branje prostora in prepoznavnaje prostorskih principov: Genius Aevi (duh časa) in Genius Locci (duh prostora)

After series of lecture a seminary work and exam will follow.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

- understanding of the interconnectedness of architectural or urban forms, - implement an understanding of the effects of topography, climate, culture and society in the creation of architectural and urban form - implement an understanding of the specific social and cultural conditions for the development of architectural and urban form - integrate understanding of the development of architectural and urban forms in project works - understanding the morphology of urban and architectural typologies

Intended learning outcomes - transferable/key skills and other attributes

- participation in multidisciplinary teams in the field of urban planning and protection of built heritage - interdisciplinary way of work in a project team.
