Content (Syllabus outline)
The students start of with revising their present German grammar knowledge and then procede on to learning a few new grammatical structures that will help them with their practical language use. There is field professional material used (articles, scientific tv and radio broadcasts, etc.) which help the students to improve their reading, writing, speaking and improves their specific scientific agricultural vocabulary. While dealing with the materials the students will be learning and practising their critical thinknig skills, which are extremely important in every professional's independent work. All this enables the student to use the targeted German scientific language and to be an active co-creator of his or her knowledge.
There is also an inclusion of shorter literary texts, used for extracting science vocabulary, vocabulary appropriate for interpersonal use, critical thinking techniques and empathy to gain understanding and ways of dealing with people in a business environment.

Additional information on implementation and assessment Oral presentation 40 %
Written exam 60 %
A positively assessed oral presentation is required for attending the exam. Both categories have to be assessed with a pass in order to pass the subject.
