Objectives and competences

Students will acquire basic knowledge in the field of sociology of the countryside and learn about the basic terms and instruments of the phenomenon of sociology of the countryside. Students will also gain new knowledge in the field of sociological analyses in rural areas.

Content (Syllabus outline)

practical value of rural sociology ural society: notion, function rural characteristics and indicators for their measurement global processes of rural society change: industrialisation, urbanisation; deagrarization, de-ruralisation rural settlements and population–morphological basis of rural structure rural settlement types rural population and socio-demographic changes rural local community, social relations, social groups and institutions in rural areas rural and agricultural family, function and development cycles field practice: creating concepts for research and data collecting for rural sociology analyses, pilot studies and data collection
