Objectives and competences
The basic goal is to familiarize students with structural engineering of machinery, the practical parameters for choosing them and about working properly with them in practice.
Competences:
• the ability to correctly select, use and adjust the machines in the plantation for most efficiency
• ability to identify and solve problems in the field

Learning and teaching methods
Learning consists of:
• ‘Ex catedra’ lessons about theoretical fundamentals of machines and their technical and exploitation characteristics
• practical presentation of machines and preparation for working with them, estimation of technical parameters, economical effectiveness and possible impact on the environment
• practical presentation of machines working ‘in situ’
• practical experiences with a machine's condition and types of application in horticulture and viticulture production in the Slovene area
Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
Knowledge and understanding:
Students acquire basic starting points for the correct selection and use of machinery and equipment in different working conditions of fruit and grape production.
Intended learning outcomes - transferable/key skills and other attributes
With the gained knowledge the students will understand the importance of machine application in horticulture and viticulture on the basis of ecological and economical effects
