Objectives and competences

The basic objective of the subject is to familiarize students with the utilization of agricultural machinery and with novelties in agricultural mechanical engineering. Competences: • the student's ability to master the basic technical characteristics of the tractor and all its components, • and the student's ability to solve simple problems alone when working with agricultural machinery.

Content (Syllabus outline)

orientation towards research on the utilization-technical characteristics of tractors utilization-technical characteristics of tractor units (transmission, three-point lifting rods, hydraulics, pneumatics) research of electronic mechanisms on agricultural machines selected chapters from mechanics of tractor groups energy balance of tractors and tractor groups travelling and working resistances during principal work operations of tractor groups planning of working operations by using combined implements (aggregating) operation of navigation system (necessary equipment, operation, precision, use in agriculture, etc.) determination of tractor group capacity, work efficiency and utilization potential analysis of working operations by chronometering introducing novelties into agricultural engineering

Learning and teaching methods

lectures, practicals

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

Knowledge and Understanding: Students: • acquired knowledge of the exploitation and technical characteristics of individual tractor assemblies, • acquired knowledge of electronic mechanisms on agricultural machines, • are trained in the planning of work operations using combined tools, • acquire knowledge of the use of tractor control using GPS devices, • be trained in working with individual tractor units, determining working capacity and exploitation potential, • become capable to use theoretic knowledge about utilization of machines in concrete cases, • and familiarize themselves with novelties in agricultural mechanical engineering.

Intended learning outcomes - transferable/key skills and other attributes

Transferable/Key Skills and other attributes: • Students are capable of adequately utilizing agricultural machinery and are familiarized with novelties in agricultural mechanical engineering. • combined use of different interdisciplinary skills for solving engineering problems in agricultural engineering.
