Objectives and competences
The objectives of the course are:
- to understand the concepts of international logistics;
- to understand the challenges and opportunities of international logistics management;
- to examine critical challenges and risk levels associated with international logistics;
- to identify different modes of transport and their characteristics in international logistics;
- to identify and understand trends in the international logistics business.
Competences acquired by students:
- gain theoretical knowledge in the field of international logistics;
- have an in-depth understanding of the critical challenges and levels of risks associated with international logistics that are important in managing international logistics;
- know and understand the different modes of transport and their characteristics in international logistics;
- understand trends in international logistics business.

Learning and teaching methods
Lectures: students understand the theoretical frameworks of the course. Part of the lecture course is in a classroom, while the rest is in the form of e-learning (e-lectures may be given via video-conferencing or with the help of specially designed e-material in a virtual electronic learning environment).
Tutorials: Students enhance their theoretical knowledge and can apply it. Part of the seminar is in a classroom, while the rest is in the form of e-learning (e- tutorials may be given via video-conferencing or with the help of specially designed e-material in a virtual electronic learning environment).
Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
Upon successful completion of this course, students can:
- interpret the roles of logistics in the operation of the company in the international environment,
- analyze international macroeconomic factors in logistics;
- distinguish and evaluate the applicability of different forms of transport in international business;
- analyze and interpret indicators of assessments of international logistics processes;
- plan, organize and streamline the process of international transport, logistics and/or distribution.

Additional information on implementation and assessment Successful completion of e-lectures, e tutorials and presentation of a seminar/project work at tutorials is a prerequisite for entering the exam.
