Objectives and competences
- broadening of students’ communicative knowledge across general English borders;
- development of B2 language competence,
- development of skills and strategies for reading and listening comprehension, spoken and written communication;
- familiarization with communication forms in a variety of business oriented situations and contexts;
- achievement of business communication skills with skills of qualitative and effective interpersonal communication in various business situations;
- fostering reflection and discussion on different business-related topics;
- comprehension, acquisition and ability to use key business English terminology;

- learning about cultural and business etiquette of different EU countries and other countries of the world.
Content (Syllabus outline)
The course provides students with written, audio, video and video multimedia input for interactive development of their reading, listening and communicative speaking and writing skills at intermediate B1-B2 level (independent user) on the Common European Framework of References. Throughout the course, sStudents are familiarized with wide-ranging business topics, situations/settings and key business English expressions relating to management, and organisation, governance and entrepreneurship.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
At the end of the course students will be able of:
- writing and speaking communication in different business situations,
- in-depth comprehension, interpretation and summarization of reading and audio-video texts,
- understanding and competent use of key business English vocabulary and terminology depending on the situation.

Students can:
- communicate in English more fluently, accurately and with more confidence,
- read, listen and comprehend short and long audio-video and written texts,
- produce comprehensive and coherent written and audio-video texts,
- use business English in a range of different situations and roles,
- use context and situation suitable communication strategies and skills,
- produce short and long written texts (e-mail, minutes, etc.),
- actively participate in interaction/discussion, take a stand, form, express and share their opinions, give information, take part in meetings, make arrangements, negotiate, give advice, describe trends, etc.,
- analyse and solve problems/case studies, form of positions, give arguments and defend opinions.
