Objectives and competences

Develop an understanding of how an organization's information system and its components work. To develop critical thinking related to the solution of a specific business problem in order to design a proposal for the renewal of the business process and the business software solution as components of the information system of an organization. Getting to know modern business software solutions. Be able to use the BPMN method to develop a digital duplicate of an organisation

Content (Syllabus outline)

The content of the course is based on getting to know the basic elements of the information system, modeling business processes, using enterprise resource planning software applications and applying a soft-system methodology to design enterprise systems in a specific problem situation. 1. Intended learning outcomes - transferable/key skills and other attributes

Knowledge and understanding: • The student can describe the components of the information system and explain their function in the overall information system of an organization. • The student is able to draw a business process using a software application for modeling business processes in BPMN notation • The student understands the functionality of Enterprise Resource Planning software solutions and uses them to execute the sales and procurement process. • Understands the functionality of business software applications for electronic collaboration in organizations • The student is able to formulate a proposal for a business information system solution for a specific business problem
